Centri Gives Back: Over 100 Team Members Join Forces for Company-Wide Community Collaboration Day
Philadelphia, PA – July 20th, 2023 – Over 100 team members in 7 markets from Centri Business Consulting, LLC, one of the industry’s fastest-growing and most respected accounting and advisory firms, recently worked together to give back to their local communities at the company’s first company-wide Community Collaboration Day.
The Community Collaboration Day saw the Centri team donate 637 hours of time and over $20,000 to local nonprofits across the company’s footprint in Boston, Denver, New York City, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Tampa and Tysons Corner.
“At Centri, our core values aren’t just words; they are the driving force behind all that we do,” said Michael Aiello, CEO and Managing Partner of Centri. “Our company-wide Community Collaboration Day is a testament to our commitment to these values and our focus on actively engaging with the communities where we live and work.”
Kristen Wik, Chief People Officer at Centri added, “Centri’s success has been powered by our focus on giving our employees a way to incorporate their passions into their career path. By providing outlets for our team members to pursue their passions and contribute beyond their technical expertise, we empower them to make a positive impact internally at Centri and externally in their local communities.”
In Boston, the Centri team joined forces with Community Servings, where they worked diligently in the kitchen to prepare and package medically tailored meals from scratch. Each meal they created represented a meaningful step towards improving the health and well-being of medically vulnerable members of the Boston community. In addition, Centri made a significant impact by packing enough food at The Greater Boston Food Bank to provide 7,560 meals to families in need.
In Denver, Centri generously donated their time to sort food at the local Food Bank of the Rockies. The team’s efforts helped to streamline the distribution process and make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families facing food insecurity.
In NYC, Centri made a difference at Ronald McDonald House New York by packing 125 NICU bags and 125 Welcome bags, providing essential items and support to families facing challenging times. Additionally, members of the team worked with Blessings in a Backpack to assemble 500 bags to alleviate food insecurity by supporting weekend meals for children in need in the greater New York City area.
In Philadelphia, Centri’s team sorted through clothing and books for children in need with Cradles to Crayons in the morning. In the afternoon, they packed 75 baskets filled with essential supplies and necessities for individuals in danger of homelessness on behalf of Volunteers of America Pennsylvania. They also packed 500 bags for Blessings in a Backpack to distribute in the Philadelphia area.
In Raleigh, the Centri team embraced their green thumbs and offered their support to the Community Gardens at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC. By tending to these gardens, they played a vital role in producing fresh, healthy food for individuals and families facing food insecurity. They also lent a helping hand at Note in the Pocket, sorting clothing to provide quality garments to homeless and impoverished children and families.
Moving on to Tampa, the Centri team served meals to guests at the local food bank, Feeding Tampa Bay. Additionally, they packed 75 baskets filled with essential items for the residents of James Cole Village, a community sponsored by Volunteers of America Florida that provides housing and supportive services to individual veterans and veterans with families.
Lastly, in Tysons Corner, the team made a significant impact by assisting in the renovation efforts of the United Community Food Bank in Alexandria. By lending their skills and support, Centri helped create a better space for the community to access essential resources. They also partnered with the Alive! team to prepare for their “Last Saturday” mega food distribution day, ensuring that as many individuals as possible in the Washington, D.C. metro area receive the support they need.
