Senior Director, President of Altair Associates, a Centri Company

Robert Drag is a Senior Director at Centri Business Consulting and President of Altair Associates, a Centri Company he co-founded in 1990 as a specialized property and casualty insurance consulting firm. He joined Centri in 2026 through the firm’s acquisition of Altair Associates. Bob has more than 50 years of property and casualty underwriting, claims and management consulting experience. He focuses on providing insurance organizations with underwriting, claims, and transactional advisory services.

Prior to Centri’s acquisition of Altair, Bob served as Altair’s President and CEO, leading a team of more than thirty underwriting and claim analysts and seven audit coordinators. Under his leadership, the firm provided thirty-six years of underwriting, claim and transactional compliance and consulting services to property and casualty insurers, reinsurers, managing general agents, third party administrators, attorneys and other related entities doing business in North America and located around the globe.  The first eighteen years of Bob’s property and casualty insurance career included underwriting and management positions at Insurance Company of North America, Munich Reinsurance and NWNL (Chartwell) Reinsurance, where he underwrote property and casualty insurance, facultative reinsurance and treaty reinsurance for a wide range of coverages and classes of business.  He also held the positions of Vice President, Chairman of the Underwriting Committee and Manager of Corporate Strategic Planning, among other key corporate roles.  During his time with Altair, Bob has performed and managed a wide variety of property and casualty compliance and consulting services. He has also served as a consultant, expert and advisor on some of the property and casualty industry’s most significant catastrophic events and complex disputes, testifying at mediations, arbitrations, trials and State Superior Court proceedings.

Bob received a BBA with a major in insurance from St. John’s University’s Peter J. Tobin College of Business.  He has been an active member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, participated in American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) conferences and held his Property and Casualty Agents License.
