Centri Names Derek Kearns as its Next SEC Reporting Practice Leader

Philadelphia, PA – March 13, 2024 – Centri Business Consulting, LLC, one of the industry’s fastest-growing and most respected accounting and advisory firms, is excited to announce it has tapped Partner Derek Kearns as its next SEC Financial Reporting Practice Leader. Kearns will take over this key role, previously held by Christopher Mora, who will continue to serve as the Capital Markets Practice Leader at Centri. 

Since joining Centri in 2020, Derek has leveraged his 25 years of experience with public companies to provide an invaluable perspective on the SEC reporting needs of clients of all sizes. Derek’s leadership and vision have been critical components in the growth of the company’s SEC reporting service offerings. Most recently, Derek has been leading the firm’s SPAC Practice and was named a Partner in October 2023.

As the largest practice area at Centri, SEC reporting focuses on working with clients to ensure compliance in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. Driven by a highly experienced team, the practice provides a wide range of services, including IPO & capital markets readiness, assistance with annual and quarterly SEC filings, SEC comment letter advisory services, and carve-out financial reporting.

Prior to his time with Centri, Derek oversaw the reporting and technical accounting functions at an international manufacturing company. He also successfully ran his own consulting firm for four years, held management positions at multiple Fortune 250 companies, and oversaw SEC reporting and technical accounting functions at a public gold mining company. Derek began his career with Deloitte, where he spent six years in the Audit and Assurance Practice. Derek obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Colorado.
